SavingStar and Stater Bros

Do you remember my previous post about SavingStar? One of the things that both confused and frustrated me was that SavingStar promoted that they could be used at Stater Bros. But Stater Bros doesn't have a card, so how do you use ecoupons?

Well, I have a solution! SavingStar works with your UPromise card from Stater Bros! Don't have a UPromise card? The cards are available at the check out for free. If you want to, you can sign up for UPromise (it saves you money for college in a 529 account) but you aren't required to use SavingStar.

Free Chips and Queso at Chilis!

With the weekend coming up, I just wanted to remind you about signing up for Chili's Email Club where you can get a coupon for Free Chips and Queso! It won't take more than a minute and you get a free appetizer!

SavingStar

SavingStar is an awesome new ecoupon service. Up until SavingStar, you couldn't use ecoupons at most of the stores I shop at. Fortunately, they changed all that.

SavingStar works like all ecoupon sites, you add your loyalty card and they will automatically put any coupon you select onto the card. It has the same downsides that you can't take off coupons once they are there and that you can only put it on one card.

But here is how SavingStar is different. Instead of taking the total off at check out, they keep track of how much you saved and will give it back in the form of gift cards. You have to accumulate at least $5 to get a pay out.

Like I said before, SavingStar works at a lot more stores than most of the ecoupon programs, including Albertsons and CVS (it also says it works at Stater Bros and Target, but since neither have loyalty cards I haven't figured out how this is possible yet...)

If you are a fan of ecoupons or at least want to try them out, I suggest giving SavingStar a try.

Rare Capri Sun Coupon

Capri Sun released a $1/3 coupon today on Facebook! These are ultra rare, so you'll want to run over and print it out!

To get it, you'll need to "Like" Capri Sun on Facebook, then go over to the "Choices" page to print it out. You should be able to print it twice.

If you're shopping at Stater Bros this week, this coupon works perfectly with the Mix and Match Sale! This coupon will take the Capri Sun boxes down to $1.15. Time to stock up for school!

CellFire ecoupons!

I haven't mentioned Cellfire yet, but it is an awesome way to get coupons. You one of those people who hates the clipping, sorting and actually remembering to take your coupons to the store? The Cellfire may be the perfect solution!

Cellfire offers ecoupons. Instead of having to carry coupons to the store, you can simply log onto Cellfire, add the coupons directly to your loyalty card and shop like normal.

So what's the downside? Well, first, Cellfire doesn't work with every store. Right now Cellfire only works with Ralph's and Vons locally (all Kroger and Safeway affliates for those of you not in SoCal). So if you are a regular shopper at Albertsons or Stater Bros, you are out of luck.

The second problem is that not every coupon released online and/or in the newspaper is available on Cellfire. Some of the coupons match, others have exclusive to Cellfire.

The final problem I have with Cellfire is that once you assign a coupon to a loyalty card, it stays there until it expires or is used. This can be a problem if you get a higher value coupon for an item that you have a coupon for, since the stores won't take both coupons and the ecoupon automatically gets used. It's also a problem if you have multiple loyalty cards signed up and find a better deal at another store that takes Cellfire. You can't simply switch it over.

So, is Cellfire worth it? I'd say YES! Last week I used an ecoupon and got a FREE container of  lemonade mix. So feel free to sign up for Cellfire today!
