Laser Hair Removal Site Review

When I was requested to review Laser Hair Removal, I expected a site that was basically a spam site for those various laser hair removal companies. Instead, I found myself pleasantly surprised.

Laser Hair Removal isn't a big site by any means, but it certainly isn't spam or just about removing your hair with a laser (although that's covered!). It provides some excellent how tos (like how to shape your eyebrows, something I have been wondering about but a little nervous to try). Laser Hair Removal also has a good explanation about various home laser systems, which cost quite a bit up front but save money over the long run.

Would I recommend you check out Laser Hair Removal? Well, yeah, at least a quick look through. Except the eyebrows, I doubt I'll be bookmarking this site or adding it to my RSS feed, but I am glad I learned about it.

RedWeek.com Timeshare Rentals Review and GIVEAWAY!!

RedWeek.com is an awesome place for you to rent out or sell your timeshare. Or, if you're like us and can't afford to own a timeshare, you can rent one for a week or two.

I love the layout at RedWeek.com. It was easy to understand and I had no trouble figuring out how to search for timeshares. Doing some searching, I found many sites local to me, although I will be the first to admit that it helps that I live in a tourist destination! Looking in Ohio, where I may be visiting in a few months, I didn't find much. Since the site simply connects renters with timeshare owners, I don't blame them for the lack of listings.

As for pricing, I noticed that the price of the timeshares are the same or less than a local hotel with a lot more space and things to do!

One of the things I love is the "want ads", which allows you to put out a request for a timeshare rental if you can't find one listed.

Overall, all I can say is that if you are looking at timeshare rentals I suggest heading over to RedWeek.com. It's free to view the listings but if you want to contact owners, list a want ad or read reviews you will need to sign up. RedWeek.com charges a membership fee of $14.99 a year.

Become: Shopping Your Way Review

I'm a busy person, no question about it. Most of us are. So when Become, which allows you to combine comparision shopping and product reviews, was suggested to me, I thought I'd check it out.

First, I looked at glass tiki torches (why not? I can have a Hawaiian themed party eventually, right?). Become had a lot of choices along with reviews of which was the best. Personally, I was wanting the table top version. I might actually convince Dave into buying one!

Next I checked out metal tiki torches to see how much different they were than the glass version. My table top version showed up here too, since it was a combination of metal and glass (and it's cheap and blue! Wonder how long before it shows up in my place???)

Finally, I checked out storage buildings for a friend who actually owns a home and has been looking at a shed for her kids' stuff. Since we live by Home Depot she asked if I could check there, but Become actually has a feature that lets me see stuff from just one retailer. After getting over the sticker shock of the price of a storage building (and figuring out that it is still cheaper than a storage until when you are talking about a long period of time) I found one that I think will meet her needs.

So what does that say for Become? Well, in short, I was impressed. I loved the layout of the site and I loved the search feature. It was nice that all the comparison shopping and shopping reviews were done. One of my favorite parts really had to be that I could just search Home Depot from there, because it gave me reviews and a direct link to Home Depot, all of which I could simply forward along to my friend and let her decide.

So the next time you're shopping online (especially for tiki torches) check out Become, you'll be glad you did.

Buy an Inflatable Boat Page Review

I was asked the other day to review a website about how to buy an inflatable boat (you can go to Buy Inflatable Boat to check it out.)

After going through it, I found it to have some good and bad points. The layout is simple and it provides good basic information, specifically about Intex brand. I'm not exactly planning to buy an inflatable boat anytime soon, but I liked the basic explanation given to each boat about the quality and types of boats available.

The bad thing I saw was that it seems a bit "spammy" because of the SEO involved (if you don't know what SEO is, it is what helps you find a website when you use a search engine.) Despite the feel, the site does provide solid information.

Hawaiin Luau Party Ideas eBook Review

Ah, summer. A time to hang out with friends, grill up some great food and relax while the sun sets at 8 or later. It's warm, it's sunny and a time to relax. And a party would be a perfect way to enjoy said friends and weather while relaxing.

With that in mind, I picked up Hawaiin Luau Party Ideas eBook by Python Printable Games to review.

The book was short (22 pages) and full of ideas for a luau, although I found many of the ideas to be either very basic (wear your loud shirts as a clothing idea) or a little impractical (use your tropical plants to decorate or borrow from friends). They did have some suggestions about purchasing decorations on a budget, which I liked.

My favorite part of the entire ebook was the invitations pages. There were four different invitation styles included that you could print directly from the book to distribute to your family and friends. The invitations were very cute and designed so you could print 4 per 8.5"x11" paper, making it easier to print a lot of invitations if needed.

The rest of the ebook didn't impress me much. It had suggestions on what you could do, but no real directions (for example, have a pineapple upside down cake, but no directions on how to make one).

It also was quite obvious it was a plug for the real material, a luau themed game pack sold by the company. They provide a mad libs game to test it out the pack, which the girls and I loved. The ideas book does include a discount code for the game pack.

My overall opinion of the book was that it showed that it was a free book. It wasn't designed to be something you could use to actually throw a luau party, but it was a good way to get the first step in the thinking process. If you need to start brainstorming for your next party or are interested in buying their game pack, you will probably want to pick it up. If not, I'd skip this eBook.

The New Design

Did you notice the new design? We had a pretty major site change and it's all thanks to Margaret at The World As I See It.  Last Friday I joined her blog hop and she mentioned she does design work. And voila!

As someone who is incredibly stupid when it comes to graphics, logos, etc (my best effort was the old logo) I was grateful for someone who was willing to work with me on making the blog look better. Margaret did that and so much more! She took my logo and made it 100x better (You can actually read the words now!). From that and the basic colors I gave her, she made the background and side bars (did you see that Twitter/Facebook don't overtake the side now? That's thanks to Margaret!). She also made the signature you'll now see at the bottom of every post and the blog button on the left.

Margaret also worked quite quickly. I literally asked her on a post Friday afternoon and had a whole new design by Saturday morning! She worked with what I had and did the extra needed to redo my logo (she had to go find the original piece of ClipArt I used and fix it from there).
